The only thing this whole scandal does is keep the "Yeah, but Hillary!" door open a little longer.

What is it they say? Hard cases make bad law? Bad candidates make for bad politics. I know, I know. There was no comparison. But, see, a lot of people aren't nearly as perspicacious as you (or me).

    You're amazed under false pretenses.

I've never changed my stance on Comey. Should have been fired last July. That Trump was stupid enough not to get rid of him on Day One is Trump's fault.

That being said, if there's evidence Trump engaged in obstruction of justice, that should be made public.

Comey is no hero. But he might end up with a unique place in history: Halting two presidencies.

My guess is that the moderate Republicans and those under the most pressure regarding re-election will ask for hearings on the Comey note. Nothing to lose, it stalls a bit, makes them look judicious while they await developments. It's starting to get very hard to come out in a full throated defense of Trump after the last week. They can talk about the possibility of a joint inquiry or a special prosecutor, knowing that McConnell will bail them out by refusing.

There is no hypocrisy exemption due to possible treason.
