If you have been following along, you would know that typefitter has expressed a pretty low opinion of me, both personally and professionally. (Which is fine.)

    That was the joke.

(We have agreed to civility, however.)

If we're talking 1992 Bill Clinton left, yes, I'd agree with that.

    If we're talking 2016 Bernie Sanders-lovin-chaining-myself-to-something-to-stop-a-pipeline left, no. I couldn't stand Sanders.

It reminds me of when I think Tom DeLay said that the criminal investigation of him was the greatest injustice in American legal history and Stewart put up a photo of The Scottsboro Boys.

If you mean chain yourself to your social media feed, where most such stands are taken in these times, then you've got 2016 nailed.

Wall Street Journal doesn't want to be left out of the fun.

VEB, a Russian state-run bank under scrutiny by U.S. investigators, financed a deal involving Donald Trump’s onetime partner in a Toronto hotel tower at a key moment for the project, according to people familiar with the transaction.

Virtually all of them are capable of taking a long hard look and figuring out they've been sold a bill of goods. God knows it isn't fun, and if you live in a blood-red part of the country it can cost you relationships you treasure. But hard doesn't mean impossible.

Gonna file this right next to "We thought he'd be more presidential when he took office" among this year's WTF statements.

To be fair, the President's full quote was: "Look at the way I have been treated lately, especially by the media. No politician in history, and I say this with great surety, has been treated worse or more unfairly."

He clearly wasn't insinuating he was treated worse than Kennedy or Lincoln.
