    They can't even force him to do that.



    So all anybody has to do is invoke the 5th ahead of time and they'll never have to appear before Congress.

    Congressional subpoenas can only be enforced if the specific house votes to enforce it.

    There are constitutional protections here, unlike Canada.

    And anything relating to the sitting president must take priority. President Trump is the one in position to do the most damage right now.

    I honestly have no idea if we have some equivalent to the Fifth Amendment. We have a version of Miranda Rights, but beyond that, no clue.

    Section 13 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms ...

    "A witness who testifies in any proceedings has the right not to have any incriminating evidence so given used to incriminate that witness in any other proceedings, except in a prosecution for perjury or for the giving of contradictory evidence."
