Most overrated bands/performers

Not starting this to piss off anyone. Really, I'm not. Anyway, the concert thread got me thinking. I realize we've probably done numerous versions of this thread, but I don't care. I need something other than the Trump thread to click on.

    I'll start:
    1) KISS -- AC/DC has been playing the same song for decades. But it's a good song. Pretty much every KISS song sounds roughly the same and they all suck.
    2) Springsteen -- Not trying to tweak; I just never got it. I listen to his songs and they leave me indifferent. Still waiting for the religious experience.
    3) U2 -- Good band. Not a great one. Doesn't live up to the hype, IMO.

Despite being a proud son of NJ, I have never been a Springsteen fan.
But I like KISS and U2.

I don't get the appeal of Pearl Jam. I've just never liked them.

All of the nostalgia around pop/hair/glam metal is weird to me.
You were just a kid when it was popular; it is alright, as an adult, to admit that White Snake, Crue, Cinderella, Def Leppard and a million others made bad music.
Really, it's ok. Confession is good for the soul. It does not render your youth or the joy you felt meaningless.

Most Def Leppard stuff is fucking terrible.

But Cinderella made some damn good music. I've said here before Coming Home is the best song of the entire glam era.

Pearl Jam is similar to U2 for me. I like a handful of their songs, but I won't seek out their music.

Cinderella really was never rated to begin with. But I really like "Night Songs." It helped that the album was popular right as I entered my rebellious teen phase.

I'm not sure Springsteen and U2 would be Nos. 2-3 on my list but I agree they are overrated. KISS and AC/DC would definitely be at the very top, though.

The boy band nostalgia among women is idiotic, too.

(Note: I think Cinderella was a step above the others.)

    AC/DC is underrated, if anything.

I loved AC/DC as a kid. Much more partial to the Bon Scott-era albums, though, when I listen nowadays.

I was actually coming back to clarify Bon Scott AC/DC.
