Love "Summerteeth." Really like "YHT" and "Sky Blue Sky." Thought the last two albums were forgettable at best.

Of bands I've seen live, REM was the most disappointing. Saw them on the "Green" tour in the late 1980s and the "Monster" tour in the mid-1990s. I liked both albums, but the live performance was meh. Especially Michael Stipe; he was a frontman who acted like he wanted to be anywhere but on stage.

Re: Wilco vs. Sun Volt, the best album between them might be "Trace" (certainly loaded with great songs), but Wilco has the better body of work. And as many have noted, Wilco puts on a great show.

Daughter is Pearl Jam's last good song.

I can't speak to the tool'dom but Dookie is without a doubt one of the finest albums, start to finish, of the last 25 years.

Every band I hate and a lot of people like is overrated.

I like Nirvana and think they are overrated. The Replacements have chunks of them in their stool.

The worst there was, the worst there is and the worst there ever will be is Whitney Houston. How anyone could stand that screaming crap, I'll never know.
I don't know what anyone sees in The B-52s. Bloody awful.
The Eurythmics have always been brutal.
Though I like a few of their songs, I've always thought The Police were overrated.

ITT: A whole mess of bands I have either never listened to, or never heard of.

Whitney had some enjoyable bubble gum.

B-52s can retire on just Rock Lobster.

On Eurythmics ... dude. You've got no soul if you don't like this.

Odd thing about bands. Some are revered because they broke up before they had a chance to put out a bad album. Some are criticized because they've lasted long enough to put out a bad album.
Springsteen is good, but I don't know what elevates him above Mellencamp, or Bob Seger except his proximity to the New York rock scene in the 70s.
