They're KGB. There is plenty of work for KGB agents in the Soviet Union, just as there is plenty of work for CIA agents in America.

But probably not working together the way they do here.

So a question and I don't know if I'm reading too much into it but there were two things I heard in this week's episode that made me think.

First Henry and the vault. They took the time to actually explain it and further took the time to point it out to Elisabeth and Phillip. There seemed to be a look Phillip gave when he heard Henry had seen the vault and that he knew something about it. The information about the acoustic shielding seemed rather specific. I don't know how Henry could be used but it could lead to my second ear worm

Stan tells Henry that his report seemed over the top because his job as an FBI agent was to trust no one, including Henry. Again he could have been just making a point and I'm overthinking it, but it does seem like an odd point to emphasize. Could Stan be aware of Phillip and Elizabeth all along and they are playing a really slow burn that will become obvious in the final episode? I did hear a story of a real life couple with children living the American dream and one day the FBI storms the house. The children have no idea what is going on, but they soon learn their parents were Russian spies. I wonder if things are going to play out in a similar fashion where Henry comes home only to find Stan leading his parents out in cuffs and looks down at him and says, "I told you that I can't trust anyone," and leads them away.

The tie in with the vault would be he plants the seed with Henry to bait Phillip and Elizabeth into one last job before they quit. And as they think they are packing up to go back to Russia—after Phillip protests, but he wants to be with his wife and Paige eventually convinces him to go—Stan leads the raiding party with warrants for their arrest.

*Edit: Fixed Stan's name. Thanks Gutter.

What was the Soviet cultural view of marriage/divorce in 1985? Accepted or not allowed?

I wonder if they'd be seen as "married" at all by Russian standards though....assuming "the center" doesn't know about their "real wedding" last week....

Divorce rates were showing an alarming increase in the mid-80s. Only 37 percent of marriages lasted past three years, and 30 percent lasted 10.

By Jennings, I'm guessing you mean Stan Beeman, correct?

So I'm assuming Oleg is gonna get bumped off here soon.

I really thought when we saw Paige stringing up the laundry and they started taking about Posha cutting his wrists that maybe we'd see Paige make a noose. Glad I was wrong but they really seem to be setting up Paige might want to get into the family business.

Next week is going to be good.

May have been the first episode where more Russian was spoken than English.

Would the pastor really blow town without snitching to someone that one of his flock's parents are Soviet spys?

Sure, if it means someone he really cares about (Paige) would be hurt. Remember, there are no grandparents or relatives of any kind to take over guardianship.

Furthermore, that P&E planted the seed in his mind about them returning to the Soviet Union means he can leave without feeling guilt about what damage those spies will continue to do to his country. He can rationalize it by saying, "Well, they'll be leaving soon, so . . . "
