Then it would be that this young liberal reporter beat up an old man. And yes, Gianforte would still lose votes for not having a pistol and shooting him in self defense after starting the fight.

Oh, here's a great idea. Trump has been slow to fill all those high level government jobs, what with dealing with scandal and self inflicted wounds. Cormyn, Thune and Inhofe think the fix is to put in temporary people as assistant secretaries, undersecretaries, etc. They would not have to be vetted or pass a Senate vote.

"Inhofe said those temporary appointees may be more willing to implement Trump’s ambitious agenda than more middle-of-the-road picks who have to be carefully selected to survive the Senate’s rigorous confirmation process.

“The temporary guys are going to be considered more radical, probably,” Inhofe said."

What a great end run to let people run positions of power who otherwise could not be confirmed. The Republican party version of Democracy in action.

GOP frustrated by slow pace of Trump staffing

Let's hope he has as much fun after his vacation as Bill O'Reilly.

What an asshole. All he had to do was quit ripping the guts out of a dead guy's family. He didn't even have to make any public reaction, let alone an apology. No, he'll piss on a dead guy's grave on TV instead, while telling the network to go screw themselves. No sympathy at all.

Same thing that happened to the well known peaceniks Gandhi, RFK and MLK. Turning the other cheek is even less effective.

If we're bringing up old shit, it seems relevant to mention how Howard Dean's career as an elected official ended because he yelled kind of funny at a rally.

High ideals, no principles ... a dangerous, dangerous combination.
