See, I believe they think they're fine but I'm sure they know they are over. People are only worried about getting caught, they never believe they are going to hurt someone.

In my younger days I always thought I was ok but I knew I'd blow over.

Near the end of my drinking days, I found a place close enough to my apartment (a couple miles) that I could walk home. Figure if I drank 15 beers, walking home and then back the next day to get my car helped work off all the calories.

Fifteen beers would kill me and if it didn't, the car that hit me on the way home would because I sure couldn't function.

For whatever reason, it has never taken a whole lot to get me drunk. That's why I set a very very low bar - ONE beer or drink - for when I can or can't drive.

I keep meaning to buy one of those pocket breathalyzers and actually see what 0.08 is. The online calculators tell me a man my age/weight could drink 6, 7 beers in two hours and still not hit 0.08. Assuming those calculators are correct, a driver at the limit is pretty impaired.

It's not just number of beers anymore. You've really got to watch the ABV because these IPAs, Double and Triple IPAs, can get into the 7 to 12% ABV range and really count as two or three in one pint.

That mugshot totally looks like he just had one too many antihistamines.

Yeah, that's a factor. I entered 5% in the calculator, but unless I'm drinking my own stuff, I stick with the macro-brew lights (around 4%).
