I know. I've abused both in my time. At no point in time did I not realize what I was doing. Most addicts know the difference between right and wrong, and abuse drugs and alcohol anyway.

That's why I was such a big disappointment to people.

They expected better of me. And they should have.

From a legal standpoint he should have submitted to the breathalyzer test then asked for a lawyer and declined to answer any questions and declined the field sobriety test and the urine test. I wonder if the lawyers can argue that he was to impaired to waive his rights and get the evidence thrown out.

Yeah, I get being disappointed in you. :)

Seriously, I know the drill all too well. Glad the disappointment is only in your political stances these days.

    And his animosity toward Maryland.

Outside of Annapolis and a few square blocks in Baltimore, Maryland does indeed suck.

I think both of you must have gotten one too many tickets in the state.

They enforce driving laws in Maryland?

First, writers in the U.S. lose their minds (and bowel control) when it comes to anything Tiger Woods. It's been this way for 20 years, and it will be for another 20.

Second, the board vigilantes are big on speech penalties and tiny on penalizing actions. Inconsistent at best, hypocritical at medium, chickenshit at worst.

Third, Tiger Woods has not had any trouble with the law since the Thanksgiving incident, so I am not sure what prompted the string of posts making it sound like he had no positive upbringing. (Smacks of "racism," BTW, if we define "racism" the way many people do here.) But I guess you can refer back to Point No. 1.

A long time ago, I went out after work to some place in the middle of nowhere and had one or two drinks. I lost track of time, and the place announced closing time not long after I finished the second one.

I stood outside for a little bit, and the parking lot emptied. I then drove home.

The next night, after work, there was a checkpoint. I was the fourth driver and was pulled over.

After that sequence of events, I stopped doing any drinking if I knew I had to drive afterward.

Some people choose not to do things that way.

Yes, those people are the bad-decision makers, and they encompass a large portion of humanity.
