    I keep seeing reporters trying to make this point as some kind of "Gotcha!!".

    But, an approved statement/briefing/interview, done on the condition of anonymity, is very different than "unnamed sources" giving their (often unverifiable) take on events.

    I wonder too if Trump administration officials are demanding "quote approval" as the Obama administration did, and as the media went along with.

    ABC aired the first report on the controversy on the evening of March 13, 2008. Obama responded the next day. Is that not quickly enough for you?

    Wright kept going. Obama delivered his "A More Perfect Union" speech on March 18.
