Right. So we are on the same page after all. Shall we hug it out?

    It wasn't "political criticism."

Honestly, why are we even arguing at this point?

    Of course he did.

Trump was being told he couldn't criticize McCain, despite the fact that McCain had been publicly criticizing Trump, because McCain was a POW.

He couldn't have won if he had followed those rules.

The media tried to inoculate Hillary Clinton from criticism too, by declaring any criticism of her as misogyny.

It's been the playbook for far too long, and Trump ripped up the playbook. He's not a very articulate guy, especially when he's on the spot, so it wasn't always pretty, but it was necessary.

I highly doubt you improve the healthcare system by gutting it, a conclusion Americans are increasingly reaching.

It was when the moderator -- Frank Luntz of all people -- tried to put the brakes on him.

Don't get me wrong: Politically I don't like McCain. But if I'm running for office (which ain't gonna happen) I'll take my shots at him politically. If I can't win without saying I don't consider him a war hero because he got shot down ... then I ain't gonna win.

"I like people who weren't captured."

Can you translate this inscrutable word salad for us?

No. The wording was stupid. It was reactionary to what Luntz said.

He shouldn't have said it. He should have apologized right away.

But, his rejection of the idea that McCain, or other sacred cows were off limits for criticism, was necessary.

If allowed to continue, the media would have positioned Hillary in the same way, and this is exactly what Hillary was counting on.

A guy's taking a bath outdoors in a snowstorm, but the water is starting to cool. Jumping out of that tub and running inside would be awfully foolish, wouldn't it?
