    So, staying in the Paris accord is essentially a big nothing burger, since you set your own goals, and it's all voluntary.

    But withdrawing from this voluntary nothing burger is cataclysmic, and signals the planet's impending doom.

    American conservatism in the 21st century distilled down to its essence. The only tangible benefit on offer to the masses is the ability to make those you hate unhappy. We have a sociopath in chief because his voters mostly want to express their hatred and cruelty with no consequences. Woooo!!!

    All things being equal, you can tell everyone else to go fuck themselves. ... or you can not tell everyone to go fuck themselves.

    You have to twist yourself into a pretzel to think the likely outcome of each course of action is going to be the same -- given that all things were equal before you acted.

    It's not about whether the accord is going to save the world from climate change; although, it likely won't hurt the world. It is about it being senseless to withdraw from the accord. Unless the idea is that our place in the world is about Donald Trump's erratic, grandstanding behavior, and being an asswipe for the sake of being an asswipe, there was absolutely no reason to withdraw. If his behavior costs us down the line because one world leader doesn't trust him with a key piece of intelligence information, or they don't think he will stay within the spirit of some tacit agreement, this potentially hurts us. We're a country being led by someone that everyone else (correctly) perceives as a bozo. That isn't a GOOD thing.

    There is definitely some truth to this premise and the writer's subsequent tweet thread. @YF, I hope you can be self-reflective enough to see how your Hillary obsession and rage might manifest in other ways with the women around you, perhaps just subtlety. Food for thought.

    Indeed ... if @YankeeFan doesn't want a dishonest hack of a wonkish statist as President, and such a candidate appears who also happens to be a woman, I can certainly see how one day his blatant misogyny will spill over onto the women in his life.
