I have heard of a grand total of zero songs on Billboard's current Hot 100

There are a few recent pop songs that have entered my orbit and can stack up.

Lady Gaga's hits are pretty good. Off the top of my head I know "Poker Face," "Edge of Glory," "Bad Romance," "Born This Way," and "Just Dance."

"I Love It" by the Swedish female duo, whose name escapes me.

Some of the One Direction songs: "You Don't Know You're Beautiful" and "The Story of My Life."

    Ke$ha's big songs.

    "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz.

Of course the Lumineers and Mumford & Sons pop folk that is the closest approximation to rock music that makes it to mainstream radio today.

Some of the Taylor Swift songs, including the one about competing with the cheerleader for a guy, "Shake It Off," "Twenty-Two," and "We Are Never Getting Back Together."

Katy Perry's songs are pretty good.

Some of these songs are actually pretty old by now.

Bruno's latest was the only one on the top 100 for me. Of course, if you ever have over the-air radio on in the car, you can't get away from that song.

Was that the "Uptown Funk" song? I know that one.

Another one my kids liked was the "Shut Up and Dance With Me" song. That was pretty good, too.

I know "Can't Stop the Feeling!" by Justin Timberlake because it was in "Trolls."

I know "Cake on the Ocean."

    Also "Pompeii," I believe.

Off the top of my head, I think the most recent hit song I actually heard when it was huge was "Gagnam Style."

I think there was a one- or two-year window where I didn't have a way to play my iPod through my car radio, so I was stuck with FM or CDs if I wanted to listen to music. When they would start talking about the fierce battle for the Bears backup strong safety spot in April or May, I would cycle through the modes and hear some of the songs I listed.

Indeed, 3 or 4 of her songs are very good bubble gum.

And because it's being played at any and all venues with large crowds, it seems.

I'm sure I have probably heard some of the trash on the top 100, but only because asshole arena/stadium managers insist on blaring crap throughout events. Worst thing to happen to sports.
