Most mass shooters aren’t mentally ill. So why push better treatment as the answer?

 

He's no more mentally ill than Ammon Bundy and his crew, although maybe more committed to his cause.

1. I DENOUNCE THE SHOOTING. It is without mitigation and justification.
2. Conservatives are going to be pissed when they discover that the liberals have 2nd Amendment Rights, too.

A common line read with varying degrees of accuracy on Talk Radio and Tea Party rallies. Karma is both expected and unexpected.

 

I wonder if today's incident will be looked back on in history as Starman's Sumner moment or the first shots of Civil War II. Thank God the only one dead is the shooter and just hope for a complete and rapid recovery for all the wounded.

Hearing Hodgkinson's profile described makes you wonder if DHS will begin tracking folks of this sort as a type of political domestic terrorist. Will every letter to the editor now go through Langley? Only half joking.

 

So someone on CNN was saying the suspect's social media threats should have been reported and investigated.

Hope they don't know about this place.

 

Much like climate change deniers and birthers, I reserve my right to ignore what the experts say.

It's only when MSNBC and ABC and the Washington Post give unqualified access to the theory that this shooting was staged and the witnesses and congressional aides are crisis actors and the Republican Members of Congress conspired to create a situation so Trump can call martial law that the left will have caught up to the right. The shooter went from non life threatening injuries to dead in order to prevent him from talking, just like when the right killed Oswald to prevent him from talking about the conspiracy. Until this happens, the left are just Amateurs in the Bannon Wars.

I do agree with the premise that labeling a lot of these folks "mentally ill" exonerates them to some degree, which most don't deserve.
