This just seems nuts to me. Especially for Mayweather. After carefully maneuvering his way to 49-0 he's now doing this stunt to get to the magical number (that pushes him past Marciano)? He's got EVERYTHING to lose.

Having said that, I think this will be an insanely boring match because Mayweather should be able to avoid MacGregor for however many rounds they make this thing.

Sure. A guy who is arguably the greatest defensive fighter of all-time is going to "go right at" a wild-swinging guy with one-punch power. Sounds like a great plan.

 

let's just say, I think there''ll be more attack than avoidance with a boxer facing a guy who is not trained as a boxer first.

 

Then he can counter punch him to death. Why open yourself up for one shot?

 

Odd that the biggest boxing match of the year will only involve one true boxer. And the promotion for this fight will be insane for the next few months.

 

Mayweather's greatest skill over the last half of his career has been choosing who to fight and when to fight him.

 

I like the idea thrown out on the Dan Patrick Show - boxing for the first 8, MMA for the last four.

 

I can't fathom the level of sucker you'd have to be to get this on PPV. Enjoy all 30 seconds before Conor goes to sleep.
