Even more nuttier: This is supposed to be his honeymoon period. And only slightly more than 1/3 of Americans are approving of him.

I'd hate to see what his ratings would be if, say, we hit a recession.

 

30%. Not much lower than they are now. That's his base. Rock bottom.

 

That's true when looked at through the prism of all the "breaking" news stories.

But --- so far, anyway*** --- little of this has really touched John Q. Public.

Kind of reminds me of the 1978 Bronx Zoo Yankees. Yeah, there was a ton of internal, dysfunctional crap going on all the time. But to a fan sitting in Section 238, it was just background noise.

Alt-right hero Jack Pro-something-or-another stormed the stage at Julius Caesar tonight. The play was interrupted for about 90 seconds before resuming.

 

Obamacare was debated on the Senate floor for 25 days alone. This is a shitty cartoon.

 

Much of it manufactured bullshit created by people still butthurt they ran a shittier candidate, if that is even possible.

 

Forget the old "the body isn't even cold" adage, Trump's body (metaphorically speaking) would have just started falling to the ground and Faux News will start laying palm branches before the ass Pence rides in on.

 

You can believe there are some sour grapes at work here, but you cannot possibly believe our presidency is not withstanding unprecedented dipshittery on an almost daily basis.

 

I was thinking more of people in government. Especially for the ones in and around Washington, every day is an emotional hurricane. And people can operate like that for just so long before things break down.

 

And if Hillary was in the White House, it would be open season on her, too.
But we got Trump. And he keeps inviting more scorn, and his flaws are great and deep.
