Well shit, why would we want to, you know, improve things?

You think things were good before Obamacare?

If her insurance company refuses to cover her after she reaches her limit, then she can't afford her healthcare. If she can't afford it, then she can go broke and hope she can go on Medicaid (which, you know, is also being cut by Republicans), and barring that, she goes without health care and dies.

    Do you get it now?

The real problem is it's not about health care any more, it's another political football. It's been a week since everyone was talking about toning down the rhetoric after the shooting at baseball practice? It lasted about a week (which was a few more days than I thought it would last) and, instead of hammering out something workable, we're back to the same ol', same ol'.

Yes. A political football that is going to be fumbled back and forth for eternity now that the government got its hands on it.

They were much easier to fix than they are now. But Obamacare was never about fixing the system. It was about taking over the system.

There's no indication that was an issue.

I suppose "cut" could be used, but when you remove a trillion dollars from a budget it seems such a sparse and blase word.

The mother mentioned that the costs were over $1.2 million in the first seven months. Many insurance companies, prior to the ACA, had a lifetime cap, which typically was $1 million. If not for the ACA, and assuming she had a typical cap, she would have had $200K in costs in just the first seven months of her four years of treatment.

It doesn't take much to understand that for this woman's daughter, costs would have been a major issue if not for the ACA.

Isn't THIS the problem? Let's fix this, and then we don't have to worry so much about "who's gonna pay for this?"
