Both face accusations which are being investigated. One you claim should be dismissed despite massive amounts of smoke. The other you present as fact because you want it to be true.

It is sinister. This "personal responsibility" bullshit is code for saying if you're sick and can't afford to pay for health care that's tough shit. Just go fucking die.

Sanders is being investigated, even though nobody really has an ax to grind against him.

Trump is being investigated, and there are a great many --- basically the entire members of one party --- that have an ax to grind against him.

That doesn't preclude the possibility that there MAY VERY WELL BE a raging five-alarm fire behind all the smoke, but the impetus behind the investigations are different. Sanders' is more fact-based, Trump's is more suspicion based, with two helpings of butt-hurt and sour grapes thrown into the mix. That makes his investigation, almost by default, a little more dubious.

And to make matters worse, an exoneration of Trump, should it come, will make you feel WORSE. Think about that. In a non-partisan world, people would be HAPPY that their president was exonerated of accusations that he colluded with a foreign power to help influence an election. Instead, we WANT it to be true so we can justify the punishment we desperately want to administer.

Uh, this description of the Trump investigation is 100 percent wrong. The "axes to grind" are reports from US intelligence and law enforcement, plus Trump's own words and actions. Those are all facts, too.

The allegations against Sanders stem from Trump's state campaign manager in Vermont.

No ax to grind? The investigation of Sanders was prompted by a request from the chairman of the Trump campaign in VT.

Uh, they can have axes to grind as well. They are among the nastiest SOBs in American history.

So what? It dates back to January 2016. They were each nothing more than laughable candidates at that time. What true animosity did Trump and Sanders have at that time? And if the claim was nonsense, why is it gaining steam 18 months later? Should have died down long ago if it was nothing more than political nonsense.

If there's no conclusive proof against Sanders at this exact moment, the FBI should stop its investigation.

At the most mundane serious traffic accident everywhere in America, post-crash investigations last hours even when it's apparent to any passerby what happened. White collar crime investigations take months or years because they are so much more complex. And counterintelligence/white collar crime investigations take longer still.
