I have the ignore on a couple people, but I still eventually read everything they post. It just lets me read it when I'm less likely to write something assholish back. The system works half the time.

I ignore them only because I can't reach out and punch them in the face :)

Seriously, that CJhoke asshat or whatever the hell his name is, the guy is a troll of the first order who never adds a damn thing worth hearing, basically throws insults for the mere sake of doing so, and might be the most unfunny person who actually thinks he's funny that I've ever encountered here. Having him out of my life in no way making it's more boring.

Like I said, we're talking two people maybe that I have on ignore, and it's not bc I disagree with them on anything in particular. You think it's more mature to populate your life with humorous assholes? Life's too short to even expend 10 seconds reading another post by that aforementioned dickhead.

If you can accept therapy and the unfortunate realities that it can generate, interacting with folks on a message board shouldn't be that difficult.

I've never used the ignore button. I have, however, learned to "ignore" certain posters. It's my version of a martial art. Self-discipline takes practice, as does self-improvement.

I'm talking more about people who are serial ignorers. It's nothing to brag about. It's a futile exercise and just makes you look close-minded.

Some of the best people I know are humorous assholes!

Does self-improvement include ignoring people who reach out to share/find common ground?

I can be pissy at times. I need to rectify that.
