Ah, I had to do some Wikipediaing. I didn't even realize there was a prequel in the original series.

Days of Thunder was a pretty good Top Gun reboot.

The new "Apes" is fantastic. The Heston version freaked me out as a kid.

Franco was great in the first film. Kinda disappointed when I found out he wasn't returning in the sequels, but his character served its purpose.

I am cautiously optimistic about this latest Spider-man reboot. But I've been burned before.

Not a franchise reboot, but I loved John Carpenter's version of The Thing much more than the original or the 2011 version.

Of course, I'm a sucker for '80s style special effects like those in The Thing and Raiders of the Lost Ark. I just can't get into the CGI effects in too many of today's movies.

The Spider-Man franchise has become like a city bus route. Don't like it? Just wait and there'll be another one along shortly.

The Star Trek reboot is great.
The original 2 Planet of the Apes and Beneath the Planet of the Apes were awesome.
The Bond reboot is great, particularly Casino Royale and Skyfall.

The Thomas Crown Affair, a remake not a reboot, but one of the best

Gotta admit, I watched that one just for Rene Russo's topless scene but wound up enjoying the rest of the movie as well.

I keep reading this thread title as "Best film robot".

I'm waiting for the remake of Titanic.

Mad Max: Fury Road was a million times better than any of the Mad Max films that preceded it. And better than most films ever made. Yes, I have a semi-irrational love for that film.
