Just looking for some actual reporting. That used to be standard. Now it's not.

So, we've got two stories, with no reporting, getting a lot of play here.

Both, rely on stories that originated elsewhere, and neither deliver the relevant facts, though both suggest -- without evidence -- that they are examples of Trump, and his staff's inability to do anything right.

The Poland story gives us no details.

The hotel room story gives us no timeline.

Defend that. Or, maybe mock the folks who use these non-stories to #blametrump.

    Isn't everything?

To tie the hotel thing to him somehow is so laughable. But as I've said many times, Trump could crap in their coffee and his supporters would thank him. He'd win today as easily as he did in November despite all we've seen from him since he got elected (and before)

    Who's "thanking" him.

Folks -- no, not folks, reporters -- make shit up about Trump, and lame brained lefties, including many here, glom on to this as evidence that Trump is a dunce.

    Haha. What a dummy.

But, if you point out the holes in the story, the lack of evidence, and that the story doesn't say what people claim it does, and you are suddenly DEFENDING TRUMP!!!

How about we stick to facts, and do actual reporting. Then we can all discuss the story, without the story being the story.

Or short of that, blaming Obama. Totally Obama's fault for not booking Trump's room in Germany.

    Here's more from BuzzFeed:

BuzzFeed News surveyed some of the highest-rated hotels in Hamburg to see who had snagged their rooms in advance. Here are the results:

    — The Four Seasons: Saudi Arabia's King Salman is here. In addition to his giant entourage, he reportedly brings along a golden escalator and camels for fresh camel milk. The Saudis booked all 156 guest rooms and suites along with a number of rooms in the Hotel Renaissance and The Westin in the Elbphilharmonie, a concert hall.

    — The Hotel Reichshof was reserved by Vietnam's delegation.

    — The Sofitel was snapped up by Turkey's president.

    — The Park Hyatt is where Russian President Vladimir Putin and the prime ministers of South Korea and Australia are staying.

    — Le Meridien is hosting Prime Minister Theresa May of the UK and two other delegations.

    — The Mövenpick Hotel is full thanks to France's Emmanuel Macron and Erna Solberg from Norway.

    — The Grand Elysée was booked by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Italy's prime minister.

    — And Angela Merkel is already sleeping at the Atlantic Kempinski, as are the Indian and Canadian prime ministers.

Now, I don't know what "surveyed" means here. Does it mean they called and spoke to someone, or does it mean they read news articles.

Either way, what they didn't do was report when the reservations were made. Isn't that the critical fact needed to determine if "White House officials apparently waited too long to book accommodations for President Trump?"

There's as much evidence to blame Obama as there is to blame Trump -- none.

But, and article blaming Trump was run, and has everyone here yucking it up about how dumb it makes Trump look.

I can't help thinking that somewhere east of the Urals, there's a factory. One wall inside is covered with a massive map of North Dakota. Workers are busily manufacturing road signs in Cyrillic, just in case Putin's meeting with Trump today goes extra well.

Funniest part of the hotel room story is watching Trumpistas rush to the ramparts to defend their guy about a story that barely caused a wry smile on the few folks who saw it.

He couldn't get a hotel room. That makes him look pretty dumb.

Yeah. Yeah. You're so above the fray.

So, this is how it works...

We make up a story that makes Trump look dumb, and we'll all get a laugh out of it.

But, it's a relatively minor story, and if anyone points out the obvious holes in it, we'll just laugh at them for getting worked up about it, and not defend the story.
