Yes. When a President is visiting, accommodations can be made. Less easy when the rest of the rooms in town are already booked by Presidents, Prime Ministers, and Kings of other nations.

Maybe those articles cite a timeline, making it clear that the Trump administration dropped the ball. If they do, the BuzzFeed article didn't cite that, which makes be think they didn't report on the timeline.

If they did, then it's still a failure on BuzzFeed's part to leave that out.

The last part has as much evidence to support placing the blame on the Obama administration as the BuzzFeed article has for placing the blame on the Trump administration -- none.

Why is one suggestion better than the other?

One of the UK papers REPORTED (!!!) that all the hotels were booked well before Election Day, and then quotes an "administration official" whining that the same thing would've happened if Hillary had won. The Daily Mail is branching out from the Poin Files!
