It will be interesting to see how much of a marketing darling Judge becomes. He's terrific TV and a Yankee

That's like the third time Ravech says a guy is done, forgetting the bonus time.

Seemed pretty stiff at interview time, but that'll come.

You don't see 500-footers every day, not even in the HR Derby. Judge went 513 and 507 in the course of three swings.

I think Frank Thomas hit a couple 500-footers in 94. BTW, saw his stats at the break that year. Damn. Fucking strike.

He's from the Derek Jeter school of interviews. You could tell the couple of times they talked to him. He's not going to say anything more than the minimum cliche stuff.

Cody Bellinger, on the other hand, was a chatterbox and a half after his final turn.

"What do you think your chances of winning are?"
    "Minus-12."

He was pretty funny and interesting.

I was surprised at how quickly the announcers wrote off Sano in the final. He had more than a minute left and they were talking as if Judge would needed to hit only six home runs to win. Granted, it didn't end up being close, but it came off a bit presumptuous.

Another example of the media not understanding the law. The Marlins wouldn't 'seize' the building, they would force a foreclosure on the judicial lien, as is later noted. All that means is the building would be sold at auction and creditors paid off from the proceeds according to priority and anything remaining would go to the owner. These news reports make it seem like the Marlins get the whole building over a $90k judgment.

Just catching up on the thread (and not at all to belabor it), I think Dick's last hurrah came when he started a thread where you shared PMs with the group. I saw the thread title and immediately thought of the scene from Dick Tracy where Dick was about to have an unfortunate accident and the villains scramble out of the building with Itchy shouting, "30 seconds no more Dick! 30 seconds no more Dick!"

And who started that thread? This shithead: @YankeeFan. But his bullshit is still clogging the pipes around here, the pro misogynist who expends countless pixels defending president fuckstick but who has the audacity to call other posters misogynistic. Says something about a man when he brings out the worst in himself and in others.

Last night is why I wish they still had the HR derby in the old time stadiums....the old Vet.......3 rivers.......places with the old upper decks........all these new stadiums, you can't really tell how far the ball really goes.
Just think about it.......513 in the old vet......think about where that thing ends up.......

Someone on Twitter said the commentary sounded like Michael Cole had taken over the set, just endless, over the top screaming. The ads during the timeouts seemed squeezed in. Bellinger was great during his time at the desk.
