This thing is more about promotion than the actual game. Not that the game means anything.

Is Yadier Molina trying out to be the Ottawa Senators mascot?

    Chris Devenski.

Have never heard that name before in my life.

Then you had never heard of a deserving all-star before tonight. Devinski has been very important to the Astros' success. Remember, they have been hit with injuries to the starting rotation, which wasn't great to begin with and he has helped cover that up with his work in relief.

He is a hell of a lot more deserving that Betances this year.

The seats, which never got all the way to full, are thinning out noticeably. Methinks Miami has hosted its last one of these for at least 30 years, by which point they may be the San Antonio Marlins anyway.

It's like reading your hockey posts. The world of sports must hate Anaheim.

If the Angels called the Yankees tomorrow and offered Trout straight up for Judge, the Yankees couldn't do it, could they?

I post what I know about. I know the Anaheim teams. I am not a person who thinks he knows it all and posts about everything, like some of the people here do.
As for Trout, don't you think it was worth mentioning? He is still the best player in baseball. He was voted a starting spot and got hurt.
Judge for Trout? Too hypothetical to comment on at this time. But it's too soon to offer sainthood to Judge.

Trout will become a free agent after the 2020 season and is already making well over $20 million per season. Judge, meanwhile, is making $544K this year (a shade over the league minimum) and won't become a free agent until, I think, after 2023. So the financials are the just the first reason why not.

Yes. But if you consider they just got done paying Teixeira 22 mil over each of the past two seasons, Trout's 33 mil over the next three years is a bargain. Would be crazy to let Judge go, but unless Trout gets injured badly you know what you will get from him over the next three years. Pretty much no one ever has had Judge's size and athleticism, but he has not yet even played 100 games in a season.

Why do you care so much what people say or don't say about your team?

Judge is the biggest story in baseball right now. He just put on a show like nobody else has ever done in the HR derby and is actually playing in the game.

I'll take Trout any day of the week no matter the cost.
