A Tarantino take will be interesting, but this movie's been done before.

LOL. My ex called him Tom Snooze over 20 years ago.

Also, Cruise playing a cult leader whose minions kill people might hit a bit too close to home for him

I think a Napoleon complex is part of the character. NBC did that Manson show with David Duchovny as a detective and the guy who played Manson towered over some of the actors. That was distracting, for me at least.

Yeah, might cause riots in Clearwater.

Sidenote: I read recently that Napoleon wasn't actually short for his era. He was average height. But there was some discrepancy in converting a French measurement and/or description into English, and the English propagandists capitalized on it.

EDIT: this wasn't the exact thing I read, but more or less summarizes it

Napoleon Wasn't Short, Vikings Didn't Wear Horned Helmets, and 3 More Historical Misconceptions

I like Tarantino's movies and consider myself a fan, usually make it to a theatre to see his stuff as soon as it comes out. He can fuck off with this Manson movie. Not just him but the glorification of any of these fucking loser serial killers. I don't get the fascination.

Well, to be fair, Tarantino seems to have been glorifying loser killers right from Reservoir Dogs. Is Vic Vega less of a serial killer than Manson? Manson, you'll remember, never personally killed anyone

Tarantino wrote Natural Born Killers. He's pretty good at it and didn't really glorify it.

I'm watching Aquarius which covers the same turf. I've never understand the public's fascination with Manson. Nor do I care to. The show is interesting in that it covers LA in the late '60s.
