@Dick Whitman , I've always liked you, but, damn, I didn't miss this pissing match with OOP one bit (and, for the record, I like OOP immensely).

I understand where you're coming from, but please don't label my side of it a pissing match yesterday. I was simply laying out an evidence-based case and trying very, very hard to stick to the meat of the actual debate.

He's still here, day-in, day-out. So I would bet the farm one more very identifiable, very special poster also digs him.

    Yeah, bullshit.

Just like it is bullshit to claim that the ongoing discussion of Lester somehow kept you from commenting on the Quintana trade.

I did, and there was plenty of snide on your end as well. Also, please note what I added to my post. It is complete bullshit to suggest that the ongoing discussion of Lester kept you from commenting on the Quintana trade. You claim that the Arrieta crap was never about trolling, just interest in the Cubs. Then you largely ignore issues regarding the Cubs unless you can turn them into an argument. That is why you ignored Lester's struggles (and those of the rest of the pitchers not named Arrieta) until I brought them up, something you have worked to deflect by shifting the argument to Lester. Of course, you are wrong about Lester, just as you were wrong about McCutchen, but that's just a bonus.

I'm under no obligation to comment on every breaking news story as it happens. I have a job. If I have something to say about the Quintana deal, I think it's in everyone's best interests that I take time and think it through. I have never even seen Eloy Jimenez swing a bat. Now, in that case, I had commented on the deal, though it was on Facebook, very briefly. It was a good deal for both teams. That was my initial impression. Do you want #HotTakes? Or would you rather I break down someone's performance as I have tried to do with Lester?

I don't understand why you are so interested in what my motivation is to comment on one story or another. It seems so immaterial to me. Certain stories capture certain people's fancies. For the longest time, you chided me for not discussing Lester. OK, now I am discussing Lester. But now that's "trolling," too. I feel like I can't win.

If someone invented an ignore button specifically for oop/DW responses to each other, you'd become an instant millionaire.

I get that you have a hard-on for me, but saying our responses are equivalent is like the Hillary-Trump "They're the same!" arguments.

Quite the opposite, the oop/DW pissing match is a deflator.
