On this issue, she's entirely right.

As a Trump fan, I figured you'd agree at least in principle with what she wrote. You just disagree with her negative opinion of it.

But there's little question that the Republican kinda/sorta needed an asshole like Trump to bring its goals to fruition.

The fact that so many conservatives loathe him makes me chuckle, because it reveals them as the same phony cultural elites whose sensibilities are offended by his crassness.

Again: I don't like Trump and I hate the policies he's currently behind. That said: I'll take him over a smug prig like Pence, who, like many conservatives, wants to screw everyday Americans with a cocky smile.

I mean, you do appreciate that your guy, Trump, has been stabbed repeatedly in the back by his own aides? He's right about that. Some of the people around him, who'd happily dish to the "enemy" NYT about him, are as hypocritical as they come. True back stabbers. And all the conservative thinkers who sniff at Trump's inelegance but would happily support an asshole like Ted Cruz...they're no better.
