Finally someone who understands what I'm on about /bluefont

I get your point, and left out in my hamfisted defense is that I usually try to get a peak at my phone when I'm at a stop light or sign. Honestly I try not to while I'm driving, but again my problem is Google maps announces what I'm supposed to do, but often times after a turn it will say something like "Turn left on Podunk Avenue then stay on Podunk Avenue for 1 and a half miles" all the while I'm on a three lane road trying to figure out if I need to be in the left or right lane and I don't get may answer until I'm about two blocks from my turn. If I'm in the wrong lane, it becomes a bigger pain in the ass to move over. So before I'm turning on to Podunk I'm taking a peak at the phone to see which way I'm turning on to Shelbyville Blvd. And I'll try not to be stupid about it. I'll miss a turn if it isn't safe to switch lanes or it was too much of a hassle to look down at my phone and figure it out from there. Once I'm in a spot where I don't need to worry about which lane I'm in, the announcements work just fine.

I'm not doing a good job articulating myself. Basically I try to look at the route as much as I can before hand. Some routes are easier to remember than others. I try to peak at my phone when convenient to do so otherwise I'll make a U-turn and not complain. Google maps is helpful but not always.

And for the record, I haven't had an accident since 2002 when I was 18 and the only tickets I've received have been for a taillight and a broken windshield. And I have no intention on changing that streak anytime soon.

Again, get a GPS. There won't be a need to look at your phone.

Not to be a dick, but how the hell did you get anywhere before Google maps? I'm picturing Clark Griswold driving with a big open map blinding him from the road.

Looking back on it, I have no effing clue. I had to print those maps off the Internet and try to follow them. I got lost a lot.

I should look into it. One, I'm cheap, two I used a GPS before and found it to be clunky (but that was 10 years ago), three I hope to only have to travel for work for one more sports season before I finally give up the ghost and move to something that requires less travel. Then I can just have my wife navigate.

Love my GPS. Tells me what I need to know and shows pictures of which lane to be in for highway changes, etc. It's mounted on the dash so glancing at it is easy. Plus I don't have unlimited data for my phone. :)

I should mention that it also drives me crazy when people use GPS when I'm a passenger. Not that that should surprise anyone.

Don't know where you're going? Let me drive.

Mrs. MTM and MTM Jr. will take a bottle of water out of the fridge and not put another one in, so when I want a cold water, there often isn't any.

I try to keep at least 3 bottles in at a time, there isn't room for more.

And it's not like it's a chore, we keep the water on top of the fridge. Take one out, reach up and put one in.

Folks who shit on the sports statistics others use, whether they are old school or advanced. We're watching a game here, not defusing a time bomb or plotting out an organ transplant. Let people enjoy things.

Enjoy sports in any fashion you see fit, just don't expect to be taken seriously if your stats include wins and RBI.
