Then you have no understanding of capitalism. It is a social system based on the recognition of individual rights, including property rights. It's the exact opposite of what you think.

In a capitalist society, no man or group could initiate the use of force against others to benefit themselves. And the only function of the government, in such a society, is to protect each person's rights -- protect you from me trying to force things on you to further my aims, and protect me from you trying to force things on me to further your aims.

Yes, yes, we've all read the brochure. It doesn't match what happens.

    1. We are not burying ourselves in debt. Interest rates are so low we should refinance our debt but we are managing our debt to service ration quite well.
    2. No reason defense spending is is the proportion of the budget it is. A realistic defense budget, without being gouged by defense contractors is the solution to most of the nation's budgetary need. THe current enemies of America will not be defeated with another aircraft carrier task force. How's that OSPRY? Bringing lots of riches to congressmen and defense contractors. Defense is not a jobs program, worth noting, though, that while certainly stimulative, military spending isn’t the most stimulative thing the government spends money on. Mark Zandi of Moody’s estimates that the multiplier is 1.74 for food stamps, 1.61 for unemployment benefits, and 1.57 for infrastructure spending. The defense multiplier is .67 to .85.
    3. Department of Education is currently less than 3% of the Federal budget, and its larger than Interior, Housing, Justice, Transportation, Energy, Commerce.
    4. If you take Defense, Veterans Affairs(which is directly related to Defense) and Homeland Security (which is National Defense), this country spends more money to kill terrorists than it provides it Americans. We could actually pay each and every terrorist and their extended family enough to convert them to Judaism and have enough money left over to buy a Blue Cross/ BlueShield insurance plan for every American for the next 87 years and send every American to Disney World or Land fora week every year for until 2026. Especially now since we are friends with benefits with the Russians (trump is more like the chubby fuck buddy of the Putin Hockey Team)
    5. Want to solve health care? Make a decision what the goal is. Republican goal on health care is to ensure that Insurance Companies, Pharm Corps, Medical Device manufacturers and Doctors are well compensated now with increasing profits in the future. Shouldn't the goal of a government of the People, by the People and For the People be to ensure the People have access to the best medical care at the lowest cost?

Wait until those parents want to sell their homes to pay for retirement and find out all that value is illusory because none of the younger folks can buy all these suburban houses.

Allowing companies to sell stripped down, low cost, catastrophic insurance would have saved a lot of people a bunch of money.

But, it was decided that was politically untenable.

The idea that a financial product, that is desired by both parties, is illegal, is ridiculous.

Your post doesn't respond to NC's post.

Yeah, it really does "match what happens."

Someone goes on a diet. ... except for Oreos and Klondike bars and Big Macs. ... The conclusion isn't, "Diets don't work the way they say."

"You're responding to an imaginary post," is SJ.com style.

But, it does. There are options. You could deliver relief to a huge number of people. But, because a small percentage would be negatively IMPACTED, it's not going to happen.

So the (latest) answer is to scrap Obamacare entirely and leave 32 million people without coverage?

But it doesn't. How's that "easy" part working out for him?

    Tebow's a better baseball player than Trump's a D.C. dealmaker.
