Harper won the matchup with Trout last night. Both homered in the first inning.
Harper got four hits. He tried to stretch a single into a double and was thrown out at second. It was an absolute bang-bang play. Ruled out. Video review supported the call, rightfully so.
That call cost him a possible cycle as his tripled in the eighth, the key hit of the game. He hooked one into the right-field corner and absolutely burned around the bases to barely beat the throw to third. No misplays on defense. Clean play. He scored on a single to break a 2-2 tie. The Nationals got another run in the ninth. The Angels scored one in their ninth on Trout's RBI groundout as he missed out on producing a dramatic outcome. Pujols popped up to end the game.
Cameron Maybin got hurt on a steal attempt ... sliding feet-first. Sprained knee, 2-4 weeks was the preliminary report. He usually slides head-first on steals. He said he thought he heard that the ball was hit so he slowed down to look, then made an awkward slide. The ball wasn't hit.
National TV game tonight. I read that Harper is not playing because of a previously planned day off since he was in the All-Star Game and did not get a summer break.

Any chance cashman then trades chapman again for another top package of prospects? Does he have a no trade? That might make him my favorite yankee.

Chapman does have a no-trade clause. Although if he was going to get traded to say, Washington, where he is reunited with Dusty and you know you are playoff bound, I think you approach him about that particular team

Nolan Arenado is 5-for-5 so far today with home runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, driving in seven runs.

Moncada strikes out a ton, and he's going to pay for it after this promotion until he learns that you can't sustain a .380 BABIP in the majors.

I predict .240/.320/.400 the rest of the way. 10-12 home runs.

Can't figure out why a rebuilding team like the White Sox give him up.
As for Frazier, pure cock block, so the Red Sox couldn't get him. A worthwhile trade for the Yankees even if he hits .180 there.
