There are many things in wrestling that no longer exist. For example, chair shots to the head, blading, etc.

What are some of the things that you miss the most that were once a staple in wrestling?

Heel commentary. Just having fun and throwing barbs without screaming about selling something. Corey Graves is bringing this back a little bit.

Example, watching Canadian Stampede. Bret gives his sunglasses to his mother. Lawler says "Jeez McMahon I didn't realize those things came in bifocals." 20 years after the fact I laughed out loud.

Today's product is begging for that kind of brevity. Jesse Venture, Heenan and Lawler all had it and they haven't had anything like it for almost 10 years. Graves could be the light though.

For the most part, managers. (Titus kinda is one now, at least temporarily, and Heyman is an "advocate.") But I'm referring to guys who are regular staples as managers, have more than one client, and occasionally interfere.

I do miss blading, although I fully understand why they don't for health reasons. Especially during steel cage matches.

Finishing moves that actually finish the guy. Way too many kickouts on them today. Kickouts should be rare.

Genuine heels. There's too many cool heels today. I'm talking about heels that make the audience absolutely hate you.

Mythical hometowns. My favorite is still Maxx Payne's State of Euphoria.

Longtime established tag teams. Too many of them keep getting broken up.

Ring robes, and a variety of outfits, Too many guys just come out in black T-shirts and black trunks these days.

Better selling. Too many times today, they take the move, lay there for a few seconds, then pop up.

Squashes, to a degree. Way to get over characters and their move sets.

    But mostly, long-term booking.

Damien Demento's hometown of the Outer Reaches of Your Mind was/is one of my favorites.

Those are all great. I especially agree with the lack of managers. Why do you think (others can answer, too) managers are no longer around for the most part? I don't get it. It was so fun seeing someone like The Weasel managing so many wrestlers and being a pest outside of the ring. Is it maybe because a lot of wrestlers today are better on the microphone?

That, and Vince doesn't feel like paying them.

I'm sure that's one aspect of it, but I also bet they probably want to see if guys can "sink or swim" on their own, and a manager is kind of an impediment for that. The guy probably will develop his mic skills slower, or not flame out as quick, if you have the manager supporting him.

How the hell are the fans in the arena supposed to even see the guys in the ring through that Punjabi prison thing? I'm having problems seeing things with the TV.

I thought that's why we haven't had one of these matches in 10 years. Gotta wonder if Vince is in the back going, "Oh yeeeeahhh ..."
