Olenna was right. Tyrion is too clever by half and listening to him just cost Dany her navy and a major PR defeat.

I feel kinda dumb for thinking "OK, Dany is in Westeros and it's time for her to just roll over everyone" because this is GOT, of course it's all going to go miserably for her.

Even though I'm fully behind Dany/Jon over Team Cersei, this was a very satisfying episode. I hate the Sand Snakes more than anything, and I'm glad half of them were eliminated by Euron and the other two are probably about to meet a fate worse than death. And I was never sold on Yara and Theon, so I'm OK with Yara being captured by her uncle.

Also happy to see Arya change course and head North to Winterfell. I feel like that's her best move. As much as she wants to kill Cersei, I think she's smart enough to know she'll need Jon's help.

My thoughts as well. How convenient Euron just happened to run into Theon and company like that. Possible mole within Dany's circle? Is this overthinking? Good episode

I could be off on this, but I read Arya's encounter with the dire wolf and her "that's not you" line as Arya having an epiphany and deciding to turn around again and head for King's Landing.

I thought of it more as Arya realizing that Nimeria had been living wild since season one. For her to turn belly up for a master she had not seen in years would be out of character for her. Nimeria didn't eat her for lunch, and that was enough.

That said, she's an unexpected rescue just waiting to happen if Arya is threatened.

Initially, I thought the same thing. But I stuck around and watched the post-show comments from the Double Ds and the "That's Not You" was a throwback to Season 1 when Ned was talking to Arya about one day being a queen with a king as her husband and kids, blah blah blah and she said "That's Not Me."

And I agree with Neutral Corner. I believe we'll see Nymeria again.

I thought all three of the Sand Snakes were killed in the battle. The two butcher older girls were killed on the ship's deck and the younger one who was on about her mom below deck was killed defending Ellaria before she was captured.

I'd have to watch it again, but I think they got Ellaria and the youngest one alive.

I know Ellaria is for sure alive because the soldiers made a point to not kill her. I just read a synopsis that says the younger one who was guarding her was also dragged off, so I think you're right. I could have sworn I saw her get pilled on by a bunch of soldiers.

    My handful of thoughts:

-- the iron islands folks aren't that trustworthy. Sure someone tipped of Euron where Yaras fleet was heading.
-- Euron is supposed to be this season's heir to the Joffrey/Bolton title of most hated asshole, but he is A OK in my book if he kills off the Sand Snakes and Yara.
-- was wondering as well how no one ravened over to winterfell that bran stark was alive and kicking it at the wall. Maybe he pulled some magic as to not make his presence fully known? My thoughts are is that news of him alive gets to Sansa just as arya arrives. They get about 10 seconds of happiness, and then the white walkers bust on through because bran has broken the magic protection.
-- brienne has been as about as useful as her captain phasma character in Star Wars this season.
-- Someone asked if varys was pulling a long con to another master? Not saying yes, but all signs point to little finger being that person. He still may be the craftiest person in westeros.

Littlefinger and Varys are rivals, not allies.

Or at least they want us to believe they're rivals. What if the really long con is that they've been conspiring all along? Littlefinger can rule while Varys is his hand, since Varys has said many times that he's not "fit to rule."
