I just find it odd that a team has such a history being unable to develop a standout outfielder, which I find odd considering you have "three chances" at it.

Yes, but I'm not going to rail on Sabean, he developed a home-grown infield (Belt, Panik, Crawford, Sandoval, plus Posey) and three Aces, Lincecum, Cain, Bumgarner who all played major roles in the titles.

But yeah, you'd think there would one that developed sometime. Maybe they put emphasis elsewhere thinking they could pick up OFs.

The big problem is that the younger core that were being depended upon, who had a good 2-3 year track record, Panik/Crawford/Belt/Bumgarner, are all having down years. Plus Pence hasn't been right since 2014 and Span is a non-impact CF is likely one of the worst defensive CFs around.

I don't know....never been to SF, so PNC stand at #1 for best baseball stadium I've been to.
A sunny day with a cold beer, sitting somewhere behind home plate at PNC, looking out over the wall at the river and skyline...I think I could watch paint dry and be happy.
