Well, in that case, the student-athletes should be getting a couple of days off then,. Which, in reality, they ought to be getting anyways since they're supposed to be students first, but that's a different topic.

Yeah. If we can just take the profit out of it, we can guaranty everyone is treated equally and receives the same healthcare, just as we do with public education.

This might be true when it comes to prescription medications, but when it comes to medical research, there are countless universities and foundations all over the world doing good work. Americans do not have a monopoly on smart people trying to solve problems.

The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.

That's a good point. Your education system is completely fucked, too.

To imagine that I've received treatment for a chronic condition and managed a graduate-school education without debt. BUT LORD THE TAXES.

Health care is one-sixth of the economy. It's a huge employer, and not all of those employees are high-paid insurance executives. Shrink their collective pie, none of 'em are not going to feel great about it. You can skim stockholder profits off the top, but did you know doctors are big stockholders in hospital companies they work for? As Democrats learned in 2010, and as Republicans will learn in 2018, people who perceive a loss are much more motivated voters than those who have a yet to be realized benefit. And when the loss is real, oh boy.

Well, I'm glad our fiscally conservative president has found a way to carve .009 percent of the Defense budget by not allowing trans people to serve.

This sums it up. Liberals think Republicans don't "believe in" insurance.

Truth is, liberals don't understand what insurance really is.

I wonder if Trump's team told him to make the trans announcement on July 26 so it would coincide with the date Truman desegregated the military? Or did he just go Twitter rogue again?
