Yeah, but with kids you never know what you're going to get. Sometimes you get Sally Draper, sometimes you get AJ Soprano.

But Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington were already in their mid-20s when GOT started. They were pretty well fully formed as actors and were cast in critical roles anyway.

You are probably right. I thought by him going in and convincing the Blackfish to open the gates that he would be granted his freedom, though. And by freedom, I mean he's still under careful watch and not ruling Riverrun (yet). If Jaime took all the Lannister troops out of Riverrun (which is what the storyline leads us to believe), it wouldn't take much for the Tullys to overthrow the Freys left behind to hold Riverrun. As we saw during their siege, they're pretty shitty as armies go. And especially if Edmure gets word that House Frey was wiped out by Arya, his confidence level shoots through the roof knowing he doesn't have to contend with an army of Freys.

And with their current strategy, I could see Jaime leaving Riverrun alone for a while. With Daeny needing more allies, I could see her and Jon Snow getting together to take back Riverrun (which if you're a book reader, you know the importance of holding Riverrun with relation to a North vs. South war).

Then again, I could be overthinking the shit out of this and we might never hear about Riverrun again. LOL

I'm not sure about them winding up in bed, but I'm sure the bit about Jon being stabbed in the heart seems like it will turn into a thing.

That scene with Diana Rigg was outstanding.

I guess when Rickon came back into the picture he let people know that Bran was out there alive North of the Wall, at least last he knew. So saying two brothers probably made sense, but it did kinda gloss over everything else that happened to his family.

Absolutely outstanding. Not counting season finales (or the infamous second-to-last episodes that usually have fantastic endings), this was probably my favorite closing scene in GoT history. Such a powerful scene with fantastic acting. The look on Jaime's face when Olenna is confessing to killing Joffrey was just perfect. You could see the wheels turning, him replaying everything in his head. And Olenna just owning the scene while on her proverbial deathbed was the perfect way to bid farewell to Diana Rigg.

Now, it will be interesting going forward to see how that changes Jaime's outlook. We know he loves Tyrion, loves him enough to let him get away with the alleged murder of his son. But does he love Tyrion more than he loves Cersei. All signs point to no, he's even said he loves Cersei more than anything. But does he truly believe that? And given the choice between siding with his brother or a mad queen, it muddles the picture even more.

I'm not sure if the way Sansa came off in season 1 was the fault of Sophie Turner but more the way she was written. Sansa is supposed to be a naive teenage princess who has been spoiled all her life riding off to marry the heir to the throne. Sophie Turner actually played that very well and it is especially striking just how well she did when you see her character's progression to where it is now.

Bran, dear God, Bran. When your character has been mocked and written off from almost the beginning there's something wrong there. His thousand-yard stare at his homecoming was just brutal. And sitting under the tree delivering what is supposed to be eerie lines about his knowledge of Sansa's wedding night mixed in with what was supposed to be genuine heartbreak for her plight and awe at the beauty of his older sister just came off as flat.

Agreed. Wright is terrible and it really hurt the scenes he was in last night.

Part of the trouble with Bran is they have been "setting him up nicely" to play a huge role in the end game for all these seasons. If they screw up the payoff, it's going to leave viewers feeling like everything about Bran after he got pushed out the window was an utter waste of time. And, honestly, I'm having difficulty imagining what he'll do that will make any of the screen time he's had worth it.

What always set this show apart for me were the protagonists were killed off all the time. No one was safe from being killed. As we come to the final lap it looks like its falling into tradional narrative form. The good guys are getting beat, then getting their shit kicked. Another mighty blow from the Queen and it will all look over for the good guys. But wait, Rocky's getting up. It impossible but he's getting up.

    There are 2 twists left:
    1. the White Walkers come earlier than expected, the The North's Army further south than they should be. A truce is had between Darys, Jon and Ceirci to combine their Armies to defeat the white walkers.

    OR

    2. The Dead want something for resurrection and they are not out for destruction per se. Jon (Sam most likely) figures this out, and Jon joins with the resurrected White Walkers to win the Game of Thrones.

The thing the Maester said a couple episodes back about the world always going on after every "world-ending" threat has me thinking they beat the White Walkers, but afterwards everything is set up to play the game all over again.

Maybe Sansa continues down the road to become the next power hungry manipulator.

We DVR'd and watched late last night, but I saw a much of "WOW #GoT" tweets, like something massive happened.

I guess I have a higher bar for shock and awe with this show. It was a fine episode, but nothing mind blowing.

    Or did I miss something?
