That's a natural way of thinking. From this hemisphere. Here's how it is regarded by many in the other hemisphere:

    In 1,500 words or more?

We're also kicking ISIS' ass, as the WaPo had to concede.

The economy is doing well. Stocks are up, unemployment is down.

Our Middle East/Muslim allies prefer Trump's leadership.

    Illegal immigration is way down.

What if... Trump turns out to be successful.

    I'm all for it.

I just wish he didn't act like such an idiot.

To back up my one point:

If unemployment is under 4.5 and the stock market keeps humming, then he's probably got a solid shot at limping to reelection.

But the flip side is this: Economic growth *never* lasts forever. We're now 8 years past the last recession. Wanna bet we can go another 3.5 years without one?

If Trump can't get his approval rating to stay above 40 while inheriting a growing economy, imagine what it's going to look like if a recession hits, as it will eventually.

Jesus Christ. I was expecting at least a shitty poll or something. You (Well, the article you mindlessly accepted as part of your talking points) takes one quote from one leader and extrapolates it into a region-wide mandate.

It sure is -- by lots of dictators, plutocrats, demagogues; but I'm not sure how many of the millions of people they keep under their boot would agree with your dim view of democracy.

Shall we look to other countries in the region?

Who do the Saudi's prefer? How about Egypt?

Aside for Iran, and maybe Qatar, does anyone in the region miss Obama?

A lot of people who have been blown up would take a dim view of your view of what democracy is.

The idea that the U.S. is in an unassailable position as "the good guy" in the world is something more or less universal to Americans and anything from "shaky" to "laughable" everywhere else.

We're a lot closer to the Empire than the Rebel Alliance.

For the record, I didn't argue this "idea" so you're putting words in my mouth; like an earlier poster noted, American style democracy sucks...but not as bad as all the other systems billions of people are subjected to.
