One solution would be to do more to stop people under the age of 18 from acquiring cigarettes. This could take the form of tougher punishments for stores that sell to minors or more sting operations designed to catch such sellers.

Yes, everybody knows they are bad for you, but I do wonder how heavily the tobacco industry relies on hooking people when they are under 18. Any adult who picks up the habit deserves what they get. They made a bad choice. But are 12-year-olds ready to make that call, to risk the chemical addiction to a product that is proven to significantly raise the person's risk of cancer, heart disease, lung disease and high blood pressure?

There are also some smaller municipalities that have banned the sale of tobacco products from pharmacies. I think the legality of that one is dubious at best, but I'm not going to argue strongly against anything that makes it tougher to buy cigarettes.

Nope. I'm telling you the argument I referred to that I did win was the one with Dickie. I think YF is dead wrong on the second-hand fat argument, but I don't have evidence as solid as what I presented regarding the danger of second-hand smoke. I would like to see it if YF can present evidence to support his claim, but even then, food can't hurt you unless you eat it. Cigarette smoke can hurt you even if you never smoke yourself.

Unless mom and dad are shoving Twinkies down their kids' throats, it isn't the same thing as exposing them to second-hand smoke.

Luckily, kids would rather talk on their phones than smoke.

    Fucking Christ.

KIDS DONT HAVE A CHOICE WHAT THEY EAT. They are given food to eat.

The evidence to support the claim is that they are dependent on others to eat.

Wrong again, doc. I'm a pain in the ass, but I'm honest. You are confusing me with Dickie.

Yes, because parents everywhere are forcing cookies and Pepsi down their children's throats. You're funny.

Aren't the fines for selling cigs to minors pretty severe?

Well, for one thing, your reading comprehension sucks. You thought I was talking about the discussion with YF, but actually it was the one with Dickie. Not that you were honest enough to admit your mistake. At least I offered an apology to YF if I misunderstood his point. You can't even acknowledge you missed mine.

You also seem to be a thinking about me a bit too much.

Those are the things wrong with you that I can come up with off the top of my head. I could try to come up with more if you really want the help.

Heroin is completely illegal and kids under 18 can still get it. What else can be done to make it tougher for kids to get cigarettes?
