    1951 Giants, because everyone remembers Thomson's HR that sent them to the series, even though the World Series wasn't memorable, except for Mantle getting hurt.

    1954 Indians are also well known for winning 111 games, and having Vic Wertz hit that deep fly ball to Willie Mays.

    Damn, he's only one year older than I am. With him and now Baylor?? Too close to home.

    However, Mr. Mays remains alive and kicking so there's that.
