Are we just going to ignore the economics of why he's without a job? Investing $9 million a year (what he was reportedly looking for) in a guy coming off an abysmal 2-14 season who's presumably never going to be more than a backup for you at this juncture of his career is not a wise investment. That's a reality, regardless of whether he's the next Gandhi or Malcolm X.

It was uneven for sure. First off, it's not exactly great prose. Overall the story and its organization seems fine to me -- until the end. I thought the anecdote to start the piece -- about picking out his wife -- was great. But the ending took a slightly jarring turn toward police matters and race relations in Dallas (without mentioning the ambushed shooting of five cops by Micah Johnson). How can you discuss race relations on The Undisputed and just gloss over it by saying,

You look young, but that is no excuse for no research. And where is the editor? Of course I mean there were two prior black (moorish) Robin Hood sidekicks, Morgan Freeman in the Kevin Costner movie and Dave Chappelle in the lame Mel Brooks parody.

 

Why in the F is a sports website writing about whether the new Robin Hood movie has enough diversity in the cast?

 

It is a sports and culture website, a black Grantland if you will

 

So lemme guess if Little John was played by Michael Fassbender instead of Jamie Foxx the writer would be ripping the studio for a missed opportunity to promote diversity and inclusion
