Things I've changed my mind about. After a dozen-plus years, there's quite a bit.

 

Interesting. Yeah, that has potential to be a terrific thread.

The reason to engage with @YankeeFan is because he gives reasoned defenses for many of the stances taken by the American right, in general, and Trump, specifically. You may not change his mind in the process, but that's not always my purpose for being here anyway. It's to get my own intuitions or arguments challenged and help crystallize them or, when necessary, clarify them.

There are plenty of Internet forums where you can stay within the bubble, if that's your jam.

Not to turn this into a celebration of @YankeeFan, but he also basically never personally attacks or launches ad hominem grenades against posters. I think it actually frustrates some people that he is so disciplined about staying within the parameters of the debate at hand. People are much more comfortable, in general, when arguments degenerate into, "You're a poopy head!" "No, you're a poopy head!" Or they want to throw resumes down like it's a hand of poker.

 

You turned against Simmons and fantasy sports I assume.
