Early stages? We're well past 1932 and now we're just waiting for the Reichstag to burn.

It used to be the candidates supported by these people were fringe ones like David Duke that we did not take seriously because we knew such a candidate could never actually win.

Now the candidate supported by these people is ...well ...you know.

Piss off. You asked a shitty question. Ask a better question next time. All your dancing around does nothing to obscure the historical fact that Democrats suppressed Republican voters.

If you thought you had a moral leg to stand on, you wouldn't be doing a dumbass touchdown dance over a 3 yard gain on semantics

    You know you don't.

Moral leg to stand on? What the flying fuck does that even mean???

Asked and answered. Ask a better question next time. You got your ass handed to you, accept it and move on.

At some point in the past, the asshole intellectual ancestors to your current party switched names.

So yes, the party named the Democrats once did it to the party names the Republicans.

You thinking that means you were right is sad.

Meanwhile, a "blood and soil" chant in Charlottesville. The Alt-Right are Nazis, pure and simple.

What you are doing here with this comment, it's a thing that people on the left do too much, and it's a thing that people on the right do too much. It's a disappointing tactic, because it attempts to reduce everyone to caricatures who are all in or all out -- with regard to party, ideology or place on the political spectrum. It suggests people must limit themselves to either agreeing with everything someone is aligned with, or nothing.

For the purposes of discussion, it's as substantive as belching loudly at a small cocktail party.

An economy that's cratered with the oil downturn

The odd thing is I read about the problems in Venezuela in the New Yorker today - in an issue from last November.
