I wouldn't be so quick to count Republicans out on Midterms. They've got the voter suppression playbook down to a science.

Figure out which types of ID are most likely to be used by minority voters, then exclude them from your new voter ID laws. "Budget cuts" suddenly close most of the places to get a new ID in minority-heavy areas. Voter roll purges "accidentally" wipe out a bunch of minority voters for shady reasons like sharing a first and last name but different middle initial from a felon. Don't worry, though, they can re-apply at one of those offices that no longer exist because you just shut them down for budget reasons. Make sure the white neighborhoods get the best polling places and the minority neighborhoods get the worst.

Then come election day and oops, wouldn't you know it, minority turnout is down by 5% and you just squeaked out Wisconsin. Golly gee, we just wanted to make sure nobody was voting illegally.

Just because you keep denying this doesn't make you correct. Bannon, Gorka and Miller are leading voices of the alt-right, which is just a rebranding of white nationalism and white supremacy.

Why you choose to hitch your wagon to these assholes is beyond belief.

Trump isn't guilty by association. He associates with them because he's guilty. His history of racism and fascism is well-documented. The man didn't even deny having Mein Kampf in his bedroom.

You judge a person by the company they keep. So...

Birmingham doesn't really have a Confederate statue but rather an obelisk with inscriptions to the Lost Cause at the base. Since there's state a law fresh on the books prohibiting moving Confederate monuments without permission of a state commission (that will never grant it), the mayor came up with a frankly brilliant temporary solution and ordered a giant plywood box constructed to obscure it. Our regional lovers of local control and limited government are applauding this workaround of a state mandate by a city that's about 3/4 African American.

LOL, just kidding they're losing their shit and letting their racist freak flags fly.

Birmingham covers Confederate monument as city considers removal

Tell that to a crowd in the GOP like Hatch, McCain, Ryan, Rubio, Gardner, Moran et al. They all think your guy is a little too cozy with the white supremacist crowd.

Very aware of all that. Yet there hasn't been someone in office quite like Trump before, and anger levels are rising. Awareness of what you described is up too.

What the fuck? Why is there a Confederate memorial in Arizona? It wasn't even a state until 1912.

Then again, why are there Confederate memorials anywhere?
