The real parallel you're looking for is where Obama hired the man/woman who wrote this -- or other materials very similar -- and named them their top advisor.

Absent that, these equivocations between the extremes of the left and right and how they're treated politically are silly.

There is no doubt that many of these counterprotesters are good people just doing what they think is right. But they aren't committed Antifa members. Those assholes aren't fighting for a better country; they just want total control on THEIR terms. No right-thinking individual would hitch their wagons to either extreme.

This is a terrible comparison. They had the money, organization, and institution of Al-Qaeda behind them.

There was a battle there once. I looked it up. A skirmish more than anything.

I'm kind of the opinion that we need MORE monuments to the most deplorable chapters in our history. The history books will remember the great people of our history, kids will grow up knowing their names. I'd like a statue (or plaque) of Roger Taney outside the Supreme Court, Strom Thurmond and John Calhoun outside of the Senate, George Wallace, - and many others who played vital roles in the darkest chapters of our countries history. Maybe some of these members of Congress and jurists would think twice if they knew their "work" would be memorialized long after their deaths.

Or better still, he was the Attorney General who obstructed justice and let Bentley run out the clock and make a deal to resign instead of being indicted. In return, Strange got the Senate seat and the advantage of running as an incumbent. Bentley also said that there was no point spending the money for a special election, so that Luther would be embedded like a tick by the time the vote came around.

Bentley made the door just ahead of the charges and cut a sweetheart deal on the way out. (Thanks, Luther!) That's Strange's problem now, everyone remembers very well how it all went down. That was a little much even for this corrupt state. The Lt. Gov. moved up and promptly scheduled an interim election. TS, Big Luther.

McConnell poured a shit ton of money into ads from his PAC. Basically he ran so many that it pissed people off even more. Roy Moore has name recognition for days and fifty pastors endorsing him.

My personal hope is that people are pissed enough to vote in a (gasp) Democrat. Won't happen, so the next best thing is for Roy Moore to get elected and give McConnell hives because he'll big as big an uncooperative pain in the ass as the worst of the Tea Party guys. Strange would have been a dependable vote. Moore, hell, who knows what that guy is going to say or do. Hopefully he will be a painful reminder to the Alabama GOP that elections have consequences.
