Ok, how many wins will it take to win the AL 2nd Wild Card?

Last weekend, I figured it would require 89 wins, and after 111 games, the Orioles would have to go 34-17 to hit 89.

After a 5-5 road trip so far - even less likely in my opinion.

But, they are only 2 behind in the 2nd Wild Card race! Hope lives eternal!

But there are too many teams to hop over, so I really prefer looking at a target win total instead of a current games back. Someone will get hot and streaky.

    Haven't looked at NL yet.

I wonder if Buck Showalter still wants to stick to his plan to plug J.J. Hardy right back in when he returns from the disabled list in a couple of weeks.

I know Buck is a loyal guy, but he would be crazy to do that. J.J. has a $14M club option next year. Beckham is under team control for three more years, I believe. Time to move on from J.J. and give Beckham a chance at that role for the future.

    Fuck this.
    I'm digging up Quisenberry.
Best news I got all day was that Soria is going on DL.
Rest of them isn't worth a hill of shit either.

Edwin Diaz -- 37 pitches, 3 BB, 2 HBP, 2 runs allowed in the ninth. Couldn't finish the inning, but Mark Rzczpcynski (I'm not looking it up) saves the day.
