I'd almost be willing to eat pineapple on pizza before accepting furbabies. Fucking asshole people.

 

Maybe it could have been a shade shorter, but it's right at my belt buckle, and in no way comparable to Trump's way too long ties.

Met the wife when she was working at a coffee shop. Score one for the coffee machine repair man.

 

That's why I'm saying. Sure, it's dumb, but fighting it is dumber.

 

I couldn't have told you "venti" and "tall." I just remembered "grande."

I was a grumpy old man about this stuff when I was 8 years old.

That sounds like the start of a porno called "Do You Take Cream?"

 

My brother is a proud urban dweller, and he goes through the roof when I don't dig stupid urban dweller bullshit. (Although he does still hate soccer. I don't know how he's managed that.)

One day I said I was tired of hearing about "small plate" restaurants, and I got a big, "You sound like Dad," etc., etc., lecture.

 

I know. Grande sounds like it should be the biggest. Venti is Italian for 20. It's the 20 ouncer.

I hate it too, but fighting it seems worse.

 

The last line was more of a joke, so I wouldn't get riled up about it.

I've been going to Starbucks 15 years, but not every day, and I know the terminology because I've listened to people order for years.

I can't imagine not knowing the terminology if you go all the time.

 

"Grande or Venti?"

"The one that's bigger than your pretentiousness."

 

I'll never forget walking into a Starbucks for the first time at 19, a first-generation college student from the sticks and the number of questions I had to ask just to get a regular medium coffee. I'm sure the baristas and the people behind me were about to wring my neck.

I now wish I had a recording of it.
