Also in that game, Gary Sanchez hit a 493-footer to the base of the Comerica Park scoreboard in left. One person doing a rough estimate figured it would have cleared the roof at Tiger Stadium on the fly.

How nobody got tossed in the Rox-Royals game last night is a miracle.

Two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning, and there's nothing going on in Pittsburgh right now.
    Absolutely nothing.
Unfortunately, the Dodgers haven't done much either so we might have a Harvey Haddix redux.

EDIT: Through eight now, on a borderline strike three on a 3-2 count.

Helluva play by Utley to keep nothing going on, absolutely nothing.

Hill got a gift with that called strike 3, though.

ESPN may even break away from the Little League World Series for this. What's the name of the announcer [/crossthread].

Yeah, but if you're the hitter you've got to know you're not getting anything close in that situation.

I get your point, but it wasn't that close. That ball was way inside. Ump is caught up in the game.

Doesn't bother me - hell, I love this stuff - just saying he got a gift.

I just happened to turn on MLB Network for some background noise and stumbled into that game. It's like I found a $5 bill on the sidewalk.
