I'm OK with Miggy getting a bit more because he started the brawl. But a whole bunch of other players should have gotten more than they got.

Agreed. As JC asked, how does Sanchez only get four?

MLB has a few favorite sons: Yanks, Sox, Walgreens, Cubs. The authorities on Park Avenue -- or wherever the corporate HQ is -- are not going to stand for anything in the way of the Yankees in the postseason.

No idea. With the Miggy baseline of 7, seems like Sanchez should have gotten 6.

And the umpiring crew should be suspended, too. They completely lost control.

I could see Cabrera and Sanchez 5 each, a bunch of others 2 each, each manager 3 each.

Suspending pitchers one or two games doesn't really mean shit anyway, the team can just juggle the rotation. It's pretty much the same as an unexpected rainout.

Not sure I buy that. But it's not a good look with Torre involved.

Good point. I hadn't thought of that.

Red Sox have been pretty amazing in light of their injury situation. Good in-season pickups proving again that the team with which you begin the season often bears little resemblance to the roster with which you end it.

    Missed it yesterday ...

On August 24th, 1919, Indians pitcher Ray Caldwell was struck by lightning with 2 outs in the 9th inning with the Indians leading the Athletics 2-1. After regaining consciousness, Caldwell went on to retire Joe Dugan on a ground ball to end the game.

Quite a fashion statement by a guy in the left field stands in Atlanta tonight:
