No that's asinine. That refusing to put a fire out of your home because some of the water may be used by your neighbor.
What the GOP did with Sandy was what they did with repealing Obamacare while he was still president. Vote against something that is red meat for inbred hillbilly Nazi loving conservative fucktards, knowing it wouldn't be law. Showboating in a trailer park doesn't take much which is why Matching tires on the truck is considered ostentatious spending

"Imagine a government agency with only two tasks: (1) building statues of Benedict Arnold and (2) providing life-saving medications to children. If this agency's budget were cut, what would it do?" -- Thomas Sowell

Are tragically mixed metaphors among the side effects of your medication?

LOL ... "childish." From someone whose previous post contained this: "... inbred hillbilly Nazi loving conservative fucktards ..."

Wow, that's a mighty broad ass definition of "portion" you've got there.

Libby was sentenced to serve 30 months in prison. Instead, he spent ZERO days imprisoned, because Bush commuted his ENTIRE prison sentence. The only significant remaining part of his sentence was a fine, that I rather strongly suspect his political allies helped him deal with. Spin it however you like, the man walked away virtually unpunished for his crimes solely because of presidential intervention. As did the fella behind the crimes that he was covering for.

And, again, the underlying point of that post remains quite valid. If Trump is looking to send a message along the lines of "look, if you roll over to protect me, I'll then take care of you, and we'll all come out ahead..." ..well, the story of Scooter Libby provides a mighty nice precedent suggesting that sort of scheme works.

Once many years ago, someone with some familiarity with the subject said that abuse of the pardon power, from which the commutation power stems, is grounds for impeachment. His name was James Madison.

    You got the facts wrong.

You point was that people forget stuff, which is why Trump will "get away with" this pardon.

To prove your point, you relied on your own faulty memory, and cited a case that wasn't a pardon, and that came at the very end of Bush's second term.

And instead of apologizing, and withdrawing your point, you still want credit for the correctness of it.

Even as I clarified that it wasn't a full commutation, you came back to insist upon the validity of your point.

People on the right side of History can't be bothered with facts.

The thing is, a lot of conservatives, including Dick Cheney, think Libby was screwed, and deserved a full pardon. Instead, he received a partial commutation.

    It was a big story.

But I guess Stoney missed it.
