Hunter Strickland wonders the same thing.

And the Mets are in over the weekend. And, looking way ahead, barring a collapse, they'll be in the playoffs. Arlington may be their home away from home, but given MLB logic, they'll make Houston play them all on the road and come up with some ugly commemorative uniforms.

And then Segura basically tries to intercept the throw to second on a 3-6-3 double play attempt by cutting into the infield grass. Somehow, no interference is called and Girardi gets run.

Five separate plays? Or were there multiple errors on any play?

Royals pitch six shutout innings -- innings 3-8. Lose 12-0 after Indians score 12 in innings 1-2.

Swept by the Indians 20-0 over 3 games.

I realize this is a bit of a diversion, but as I was dial switching during an inning change of the Sox game, I was amazed to learn the Little League World Series is still going on. It's been like all month, just like the damn MLB playoffs. Like school has started in some of those places, right?

Yup. A few years ago, a team in my paper's area made the Cal Ripken finals and I did a bunch of mini-profiles of the players. When asked what he was looking forward to most, most answered meeting kids from other places, etc., but one was honest: Playing baseball while everyone else was in school.

Watching my first game of "players weekend." Gawd, these uniforms are ugly. We're talking slow-pitch softball bad here.

I assume you are having a little fun here? I've seen the limits of your baseball knowledge in fantasy leagues, but I'm guessing you know how they got Rivero and I'm sure you know where to find this answer.

Sometimes when you dump veterans for prospects, it pays off. Sadly, the Pirates always do it, which is a big part of why Rivero's performance this year is being wasted.

Pardon the post-padding, but out of curiosity googled Alamodome and baseball. 285 down the line in right, 354 to left.

Another option: Round Rock or El Paso? PCL season ends on Labor Day.

    Took my son to MIN/TOR.

Jays lit up Twins reliever Tyler Duffey, scoring six times in the fifth. Was funny watching him get yanked and see "The Big Doof" moping off the field.
