He needs to seek help.

 

The legal profession in general is way too fawning of certain lawyers and judges--the hero worship really is obnoxious--but Posner is actually deserving of the accolades. One of the few federal judges actually willing to criticize the federal judiciary. His transparency on the bench will be missed.

 

It really is amazing. As a long-time journalist, I was always really uncomfortable with the rounds of applause and so forth that were delivered - and the just the general fawning in conversation even of partners at the firm. (Don't run into it so much in the suburbs, where people aren't brazen careerists/strivers.)
